Lesbians stay together 55 years before allowed to marry… meanwhile, heterosexuals only stay married for an average of ~8 years!!!

The title of this post just about says it all, doesn’t it?

It’s ironic to me that the only people I hear talking negatively about gay marriage have either been married 3-4 times, or don’t seem to be happy in their own marriages.

Maybe critics of gay marriage in the name of protecting “the sanctity” of marriage should focus on the real problems – failed marriages, inequity in marriage, adultery, marital rape, etc, etc…

Impeachment – I think Kucinich and Pelosi are Correct!

I’m all for holding these bastards accountable, however, this article points out my main concern, which is the fact that both Bush and Cheney CANNOT POSSIBLY be impeached in the same day and time… if one or the other is impeached before the other, then the remaining “decider” will pardon the other of any crimes, and choose his successor before being impeached and pardoned himself… that isn’t justice!

I’m DELIGHTED that the 35 articles for impeachment against Bush have been introduced into the record, and I think we will be able to prosecute him for war crimes AFTER he leaves office. I think this is the only way.

US Claim of “Spreading Democracy” – I don’t buy it

http://airamerica.com/content/hay-ride-jimmy-carter-crosses-line

Jimmy Carter denounced the US, Europe, the UN, and Russia for the blockade on Gaza, ruled by democratically elected Hamas.  Here are some of my favorite quotes from the article from Air America Online

The blockade on Hamas-ruled Gaza, imposed by the US, EU, UN and Russia – the so-called Quartet – after the organisation’s election victory in 2006, was “one of the greatest human rights crimes on Earth,” since it meant the “imprisonment of 1.6 million people, 1 million of whom are refugees”. “Most families in Gaza are eating only one meal per day. To see Europeans going along with this is embarrassing,” Carter said….
Carter’s position on Iraq is, of course, the only sensible alternative left after years of needless slaughter and ruin: complete withdrawal and massive reparations.

Israel has 150 nuclear weapons in its arsenal, former President Jimmy Carter said yesterday, while arguing that the US should talk directly to Iran to persuade it to drop its nuclear ambitions.

Talk to Iran directly?  Diplomacy?  Acting like grown ups, instead of preschoolers playing war on the playground?  Does Carter really expect the current administration to act maturely and logically toward peace and democracy worldwide?
